About

Tomás Mier is a Mexican American music journalist based in Los Angeles. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, People, Variety, and the Los Angeles Times. He spent four years as a staff writer at Rolling Stone, where he covered trends in pop and Latin music. Tomás has been on the frontlines of breakout moments — covering Chappell Roan’s rapid rise, Peso Pluma’s Mexican music takeover, and Omar Apollo’s evolution — while also sitting down with icons like Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, and Christina Aguilera.

When he’s not chasing stories, Mier is often onstage at the Grammy Museum, where he’s hosted conversations with artists ranging from Sabrina Carpenter and Ellie Goulding to Stromae and Enrique Bunbury. Online, he brings his music obsession to TikTok, where thousands of followers tune in for his news updates and concert reviews.

Before Rolling Stone, Mier was a Digital Music Writer at People, where he penned a cover story on a Marilyn Manson survivor.

A proud University of Southern California grad, Mier studied Journalism and Contemporary Latino Studies — but he’ll tell you most of his education came from blasting pop songs on repeat.
